A. Till 6 months complete only breastfeeding or formula feed should be given. Feed according to babies demand after completing 6 months you should start with water along with Dal water and rice water only in continuation with breast milk after completing 7 months you should start with Semi solid food like vegetable soup for fruits purry and then slowly move on for solid food so that the babies digestion remains good

A. The Academy of Pediatrics recommends introducing solid foods to babies around 6 months of age, when they show signs of developmental readiness. While some babies may show interest in solid foods earlier, it's generally best to wait until around 6 months to ensure their digestive system is mature enough to handle solids and to reduce the risk of certain health issues. However, every baby is unique, and there are some signs that may indicate readiness for solid foods, which typically emerge around 4 to 6 months of age. These signs include: 1. **Ability to hold their head up steadily:** Your baby should be able to sit with minimal support and hold their head and neck upright. 2. **Loss of tongue thrust reflex:** Babies younger than 4 to 6 months have a natural reflex that pushes food out of their mouths with their tongues. As this reflex diminishes, your baby may be ready for solids. 3. **Showing interest in food:** Your baby may watch you eat with curiosity, reach for food, or open their mouth when offered a spoon. 4. **Increased appetite:** If your baby seems hungry even after breastfeeding or formula feeding, they may be ready to try solid foods. If your baby shows these signs of readiness for solid foods around 4 months of age, it's a good idea to discuss it with your pediatrician before starting. Your pediatrician can provide personalized guidance based on your baby's individual needs and development. If your pediatrician agrees that your baby is ready, you can start by offering single-ingredient, iron-fortified infant cereals mixed with breast milk or formula. Start with small amounts and gradually increase the quantity and variety of foods as your baby adjusts to eating solids. Remember to always supervise your baby during feeding, start with smooth and pureed textures, and introduce one new food at a time, waiting a few days before introducing another to watch for any signs of food allergies or sensitivities.
