Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children3 years agoA. If he has not uttered even a single word then u should consult with your pediatrician and get a hearing test done. But if he is only slow in talking. Then u may wait and help. Babies talk around 18 months. They will be able to say simple words, point to objects and call their name.
Every child is different and there could be early and late speakers. So u need not worry. The only key is to keep communicating with ur baby regularly. Question him and urge him to answer. Talk to him about everything that u see around. Tell more stories. A continuous verbal conversation with ur baby will improve his vocabulary and encourage him to speak more. Limited screen time can also help to improve kid's vocabulary. If u r still worried u may consult with a speech therapist.
