Q.

#Asktheexpert My baby is going to turn 6 months by next week, can I add sugar and salt as per taste for my baby? What if I add a pinch of sugar to porridge for making my child have the meal for the first time? And if it's not good adding sugar and salt to the baby's food, then from which month I can add these two?

A. Babies doesn't know sweet or salt taste unless we introduce it. So do not worry the food is bland. . Sweetening of food/porridges are not recommended even it is with fruits, dates, etc because it might become a habit in no time and will be difficult to change.

A. hi..as far as possible avoid salt and sugar in babies diet until they turn one year old. kids dnt knw wat is salt and sugar... they hv not tasted food... its in our mind to think it tastes bland... i dint give till 10-11 mnths... its not advisable ... rest its ur call. Once u introduce salt n sugar to them then they you can't go back to give bland food. Even I didn't introduce salt till 11months n sugar till 2yrs for my child. : In fact it's better if sugar is introduced much later.
