#AskTheExpert my baby is eating small sand partical is this any calcium problem can we use calcium syrups

A. if the baby is consuming mud or sand then it is called as pica and it does come when the baby is having nutritional deficiency like iron or zinc. kindly consult your doctor and take a proper treatment also make sure that deworming is done to the child

A. Yes It is mostly due to calcium deficiency in the body so you should start giving calcium supplement like your doctor must have advised you at some point of time otherwise if you need to you can consult your paediatrician and then you go ahead and have your calcium supplement prescribed by a doctor
