#AskTheExpert my baby is coughing in the morning. pls advise medicine and certain precautions.

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evhyaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce xthe fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. Drink plenty of fluids to keep the mucus thin. Sleep with your head slightly elevated to keep mucus from pooling inside the throat. Take half a teaspoon of honey before you go to bed – this can provide soothing relief from coughs. Suck on a lozenge or take small sips of water to suppress your cough.
