#asktheexpert my baby is 16 mth and 10 days old and is due for pcv booster vaccine but vaccine is out of stock from last one week at dr’s clinic. His paed told us to wait. Should we wait or consult other dr. Is it okay to delay this vaccine. If yes how many days delay is okay. Pls suggest

there should not be a problem if you postpone it for maximum one month but after that it is not advisable because the child become susceptible to the vaccine preventable disease.
try to get a vaccination as early as possible for first one year to 2 year of age.
except one or two vaccines almost all vaccine can be given at any age and the advantage of the vaccine starts when it is given to the child.
meet your doctor who will tell you which vaccines can be given at this age as well as whether any booster dosage is required or not.

Yeah yeah if you have to get the vaccination delayed for 4 to 5 weeks it’s completely alright it’s not a problem in general scenario also if there is a need you can postpone the vaccination for this much time there is no problem so either paediatrician has just giving you the correct guidance as per the current situation
