Q.

#asktheexpert my baby is 16 months and 20 days old. Ideally pcv booster vaccine is given at 15 months but my paed dont have this vaccine in stock. He continuously keep telling us to wait for the vaccine. Should I wait or take my daughter for vaccine to some other doctor. How much delay is okay. Its already 1 month and 20 days delay. Pls suggest

A. that's fine can wai till 18months of age also. vaccine is very important to increase the immunity of the body. very important to complete the course of vaccination which come before 5 years of age because this is the age group in which children are prone to vaccine preventable diseases. contact your doctor who will tell you which vaccines are important for your child and which vaccines are optional. optional vaccine only depends upon the immunity status of the child as well as upon the endemic diseases of your area
