Q.

#AskTheExpert My baby boy of age 3.5 is experiencing hairfall. We could find his hair all over his body. Couple of days back found a dandruff kind of patch which seem to spread. Currently using cetaphil baby shampoo and cold pressed sesame oil.

A. Hair loss in babies is very common and because of many reasons. Because of the withdrawal maternal hormone initial hairfall is there. After birth all the hair of the baby remain in the resting phase and usually by 8 to 12 weeks of age shedding of hairs is there . Hairs wrill grow back mostly by 3-7 months but a proper quality hgair will be there by around 2 years of age. Cradle cap is also a cause for frequent shedding of hairs. along with traction alopecia because of continuous pressure on head in lying position

A. Hi See this is normal at this age to have a little bit of hair what you are saying in the scalp of your child is not under cradle cap and it does not spread it is just tap into the roots so whenever you oil and shampoo the head you can just generally clean it with some super soft in fant-based crush
