Q.

#AskTheExpert my 8 months old daughter weighs 6.6 kg.. i have been exclusively breastfeeding her till 6 months.. after that I am trying to give solids along with breastfeeding.. but she is resisting solids and doesn't open mouth for taking spoon.. what should I do? can i supplement with formula

A. it is very common that during the initial one or two years the child might take liquid or semi solid diet. but you can always gradually shift to semi solid to solid diet with increasing consistency and you have to progress by 20% to 30% every fews weeks. it is a learning process of swallowing as well as she is going by the child so do not worry and continue your efforts.x the child will learn the chewing process gradually because the child is always copying people around them
