#AskTheExpert My 3.5 months old baby is having severe cold. His nose is blocked and it sounds as if the cough is struck in his airways. When he try to suck milk he feel pain and is unable to drink due to cold. Please suggest what to do?

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sin NCarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
