#asktheexpert my 16 months old baby used to speak some words before he started using gestures.... now has forgotten those words and doesn't speek those words at all .. he doesn't babble much. .. he just says aaaaa aeeee... and when we ask where do you want to go? he just replies baba.... is speech regression common in toddlers?

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl4 years agoA. no regression it is normal. Language is a slow process and will take time for a good clear speech . So any screen time like T . V or mobile screen should be restricted as this may delay the speech . Also a speech therapist can be consulted for the same .
