#asktheexpert Is it possible get rid of tongue thrust from toddlers? if so how?

A. yes but this pattern can be seen due to fungal infection in the oral cavity of the child. many times it may be associated with either bottle feeding or usage of antibiotics in children. it is important to differentiate between stuck milk inside the oral cavxity and the fungal infection that is also known as oral thrush. meet your doctor for examination of the child and treatment

A. Myofunctional therapy and speech therapy are done for the treatment of tongue thrust. The goal of myofunctional therapy is to develop a normal oral resting position where the lips and teeth are closed, and the tongue tip rests against the ridge behind the upper front teeth.
