Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 3 m old girl4 years agoA. hi it is blood test to check rare genetic , hormone -related and metabolic conditions that can cause serious health problems. this test lets doctor diagnose babies quickly and start treatment as soon as possible . so if it is suggested by your pediatrician ,you should get it done. A small blood sample taken by pricking the baby's heel is tested . it is done usually at 1 or 2 days of age.
