A. HMO is human milk oligosaccharides or HMOs are complex sugars uniquely present in breast milk. They are 3rd most abundant, coming after lactose and fats. A liter of breast milk contains 5 to 20g of HMOs, the concentration sometimes exceeding that of the proteins in breast milk.
