#AskTheExpert I'm feeding home made cerelac with honey to my 10 months baby,can I use honey. 1) is honey is good or not I have seen in internet that the consumption of honey is not good to toddlers. 2) Instead of honey what can I use to make sweetness

A. Honey contains spores of bacteria which can affect the immature immune system and can cause a condition called botulism in children under one year of age. However this does not impact kids above one year of age and adults. You can use date syrup(homemade) or natural sweeteners like palm sugar or palm candy or jaggery or brown sugar. But add these only little by little and see if it suits ur baby.
