Q.

#AskTheExpert Hi. my son who is 3.8 yrs old had fever since Thursday..we have him paracetamol for 3 days and he was all fine till last evening when he again started getting fever and he has flem also which is effecting his breathing as he was breathing heavily last night. His fever has come down but the congestion is still there. pls suggest what to do next

A. Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment also this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours ifd fevedr is repeating. and you can also do cold sponging of the body if required
