#AskTheExpert hi my son is 3months old. plastic strip thermometer is showing 38°C, is that a fever? thank you

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. according to the symptoms of the baby it is advised to get a proper physical examination done which would be helpful for the doctor to to find out the the treatment for further management consult dr. if the temperature got goes beyond 99 degree fahrenheit then take it as fever

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl4 years agoA. first of all know that baby on touch can have warm sole forehead and is a normal thing . Temperature above 99 farenheit at armpit level is considered as fever and needs medicines .
Can give calpol / Sumol / T 98 for fever and can be repeated every 6 hours .
if fever does not subside with paracetamol and persists for more than 2 days then you need to consult a doctor for examination to know cause of fever .
