#AskTheExpert hi my son 1yr old he had a cold since 2 weeks... i giving him maxtra p oral drops for cold... but i cannot able to see achange... he is sneezing with thick mucus... please suggest me to get rid of running mucus

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given onldy after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the gtype of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fevrer and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

See you can ask your doctor if you can nebulise your child because nebulisation also helps in reducing the congestion from the nose Chest and throat if your child is having Rani mucus or something nebulisation is going to help in reducing thatWrite Your Answer Here
