#AskTheExpert Hi, My lo is 6 and half months old, I have started with dal water and then cerelac and apple puree. I give apple puree in the morning and cerelac in the evening. Please suggest if two meals is fine for the baby. What other purees can we start and what should be the quantity and frequency of giving meals? TIA

A. Hello mom Whenever you start solids it’s always better to introduce one food at a time and one meal at a time first and then as per how the baby is getting used to it you gradually increase the quantity And the variety and a number of meals as well. You can give steamed and mashed vegetables, or soups , seasonal fresh fruits can be given in mashed form or juice , kichidi , porridge made with suji or ragi or multigrain mix, curds , ghee

A. Hi dear mom Yes 2-3 meals are fine in a day. U can also give papaya, pear, chicoo, khichdi, ripe banana, ragi porridge, pumpkin puree etc to ur baby. Give homemade freshly prepared food to ur baby.
