#asktheexpert hello sir, my daughter is 1 n half month old and she's suffering from cold n cough from.last month drops are continuesly giving to her but still she suffer from that so what i have to do now

ExpertDr Mahesh PatilPaediatrician3 years agoA. Hello, your baby girl is 45 days old and she is having a cold cough so if she doesn’t have a fever then give her 5 drops of sinarest and 7 drops of Ascoril Ls three times a day

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treagted with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators orh antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 3 m old girl3 years agoA. hi as baby is too young,I advise to inform your treating doctor for once please continue with breastfeeding ,it contains antibodies which help your child to fight against such Infections. give massage with warm Mustard oil and tiny garlic pod or apply warm paste of Turmeric powder and water on chest and back of your child. give Sunlight atleast 20 minutes a day
