#asktheexpert Hello Sir Good morning, My 21 month old son suffers from severe phlegm and cough and cold. Every time after cough and cold he gets 100+ fever which lasts for 7-8 days. He has a thick running nose and takes deep breath. This problem occurs almost every month, what should I do ?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Cough and Cold along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a feature of viral infection or seasonal flu where most of the time supportive treatment is given.
acglong with that cough expectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given.g
steam inhalation can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.

It is advisable to get baby evaluated by a doctor and follow doctors advice properly. You can book online doctor appointment on First Cry, where the doctor can help with diagnosis and treatment.
