A. It's common for babies to have slight asymmetry in their posture as they develop, but it’s important to keep an eye on it. The positioning of your baby's shoulder and the slight curve in the spine may be due to normal developmental differences or it could be a sign of conditions like torticollis (tight neck muscles) or mild spinal misalignment. A slight curve in the tailbone is generally not a concern during infancy as babies' bones and muscles are still developing. However, if you notice the following, it would be good to consult a pediatrician: 1. Uneven muscle development or if one side of the body feels more rigid or tighter than the other. 2. Limited neck movement or difficulty turning the head to both sides. 3. Progressive or noticeable curvature in the spine. The pediatrician may recommend some gentle physical therapy or exercises to encourage balanced development. Early intervention can help with correcting any issues and ensure that your baby’s spine and posture develop normally.
