Q.

#asktheexpert “Doctor, I had a thyroid test recently when I entered my 7th month of pregnancy, and it was normal at that time. But now my thyroid hormone levels (T3 and T4) have increased slightly. Is this something to worry about? Will it affect my baby or pregnancy in any way?”

A. During pregnancy, we do not rely on T3 and T4 and it is TSH that matters and that is in very good control so don’t worry even if T3 and T4 high. Free T3 and free T4 matters in pregnancy.
