For babies under 6 months: Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. Dress baby in lightweight, full-sleeved clothes, hats, and use a shade or umbrella. Sunscreen is not usually recommended unless there's no way to avoid sun exposure — then you can apply a tiny amount of baby-safe sunscreen on small exposed areas (like face or back of hands). For babies 6 months and older: Yes, you can apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher that is specifically made for babies or sensitive skin. Look for mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as they are gentler and safer. Apply it to all exposed skin areas 15–20 minutes before going outside, and reapply every 2 hours or after sweating/water exposure.
