A. If your 7-month-old baby is teething and crying excessively at times, it is likely due to gum discomfort and pain. Teething can cause swollen gums, irritability, excessive drooling, biting on objects, and disturbed sleep. To soothe your baby, you can gently massage the gums with a clean finger, offer a cold teething ring or a chilled spoon, and let the baby chew on a soft silicone teether. Breastfeeding or formula feeding can also provide comfort. If the pain is severe, you may apply a pediatric teething gel (only after consulting a doctor) or give paracetamol drops if recommended by your pediatrician. This phase is temporary, and your baby will feel better once the teeth fully emerge.
