I personally feel that it all depends on the mentality of the said parents and relatives
I am blessed with two daughters and I have never ever wished to change that.

Being a mother yaar to dil se hum kabhi Nahi sochte ki beta hi ho...beta ho ya beti ik maa k liye dono hi ankh k tare hotein hay..But This Society chahe High class ho,Middle class ho ya Poor class...In sab ki soch yehi hay ki Beta hi vansh bda skta hay...Yeh jo society hay isne itna pressurize kiya huya hay some mothers ko ki bichari kayi to delivery time yeh soch rahi hoti hay ki kya gender hoga..Even Maine bhi experienced kiya hay..pehle baby girl huyi to maine husband nay khushi khushi accept ki but jab society mai jate ho to bina mangi blessings dete hay ki,Chalo bhagwan apko beta bhi dega😂 But blessed hu ki Ik beta aur beti hay...But ik baat Betiya kisi se kum nahi hoti...punjabi mai kehte hay na ki...
Betiyaa dukh sukh mai hazir hoti aur Bete zameen k batware mein👍

I was born with two sisters, while growing we our parents never felt that gender difference. It changes after marriage. ancesters have made so many rules in intention to protect girl child but its just wrongly used by people.
