I met my husband 18 years ago, and we fell in love. But we had to wait a long time before we got married. It was in 2014, and after lots of struggles, that we got tied in holy matrimony. Because we married late, we decided to start a family without waiting. We tried for six month to conceive naturally, but we failed. Therefore, we decided to consult the doctors.

It was quite a challenging time in our lives. We got to know that I am infertile. The diagnosis, believe me, was really hurtful. So, we consulted some more doctors. After two failed IVFs and doing almost everything, even superstitious remedies, last year in the month of December, we confirmed our long-awaited pregnancy. I was pregnant with twins! For a moment, both of us were numb; we couldn’t believe it.

My pregnancy was not so good as it came with lots of hurdles. In the fifth month, I experienced bleeding, and I got admitted to the hospital. Some tests were carried out, and the doctors said I couldn’t carry the babies if the bleeding didn’t stop as the babies were on the lower placenta. That was the worst day of my life. We prayed to God to save our babies, and a miracle happened! We came out of this danger, and the doctor confirmed everything was good, but I had to take complete bed rest. After a month of rest, we were told, the babies were safe.

However, the challenges didn’t stop right there. In the seventh month, we got another shocking news. The doctor had prescribed some test for me as my blood group is A negative. I got the test done, but the result was not good. The doctor feared my babies could have positive blood group, and because I have a negative blood group, antibodies may be created in my body, which could harm the babies. Therefore, the doctor advised me to repeat the test every 15 days. However, with God’s grace, everything went smoothly, and this year, on 31st May 2020, we welcomed our twins – a baby girl and a baby boy.

This is my story and my journey from being infertile to becoming a mother of twins.
