Life flipped upside down as soon as a tiny being came into our lives. Although it was a hard-hitting fact that nothing of the life we enjoyed earlier was going to be the same for a couple of years, we were ready for the challenging days ahead.
People told me that I’m going to be sleep deprived, party deprived and much more. This sent me into a state of depression, which was ruled over in just two weeks by my mother-in-law, who is my strongest pillar.
She held my hand and helped me bond with my baby, she insisted me on going out with my husband while she took care of the little bundle of joy. It was because of the trust I keep on her that I was ready to leave my baby at home and step into the world that I had been missing. Not a stereotypical mother-in-law that we witness on Indian television, my MIL has been my best friend who has made me enjoy motherhood.
From taking prenatal fitness classes and staying active by walking and eating proper meals, she was a big help during pregnancy. During the course of pregnancy, I learnt that fitness and yoga play a pivotal role and help in a normal delivery.
I kept exercising till the last day, which is the main reason behind my having a normal delivery and my weight going back to normal within the first month of delivery.
Motherhood is bliss and the little miracle that changed our lives has been our lucky charm. He is the eternal gift of love and the biggest reason behind my bonding with my husband. We’re grateful to God and look forward to spending all holidays with our boy and making memories with him. A baby is the biggest joy in this world.
