Staying Active, Healthy and Positive During Pregnancy
Just as marriage is a crucial and exciting part of one’s life, so is getting pregnant. There’s a lot of happiness in the family on hearing the news of a pregnancy. At the same time, especially for first-timers, it also brings in a lot of nervousness and anxiety in the expectant mother.
What should I eat? How should I sleep? Should I watch this? etc. Friends and family start giving tons of suggestions. Listen to all of them, but do what you feel is right. Don’t do anything under pressure. After all, it’s your body and your baby. Read lots of books. Watch humorous and light movies. Stay with people who bring out the best in you and have a positive attitude. Eat healthy food and have plenty of water and juices. Pregnancy is a very peculiar phase. With each passing month, you learn something new about your body and baby. Watch the ultrasounds and baby movements. Enjoy this phase to the fullest and seek help from family and friends whenever required. Do not hesitate to ask the doctor about your doubts. After all, you are paying for their professional service. Get all your vaccinations on time. (Government centres provide vaccinations free of cost to pregnant women)
Remember, it’s a new phase for the husbands as well. Have a lot of patience, and don’t treat them any different from before. They don’t know what changes your body is going through, and only you can help make them understand. Plan a pregnancy shoot, and involve your husband and family as well.
Do not pick heavy objects. Go on walks. In case you feel uneasy or any inconvenience, do not panic or ignore it. Immediately reach out to the nearest doctor, as many a time, negligence causes serious issues.
Stay healthy. Stay happy. Stay active.
