As we grow old, we change.
We make new friends,
We get mentors in many forms.
As we grow older,
We realise that our parents were our angels in disguise.
This is a letter that every son/daughter would write to his/her parents at least once in their lifetimes.
When I was born,
I was the apple of your eye.
when I spoke my first word,
you have celebrated it like it was your birthday!
You have always tried to give me the best.
You sacrificed your happiness
just to see me happy.
You held my hand when I was scared,
You wiped my tears when I cried.
You never compared me with the other children of my age,
Whenever I brought home a trophy,
Your heart filled with pride;
I’m turning older and you still love to select my clothes,
You still put me to bed at night;
When I was away from home,
You would call me every day to make sure I ate well.
Whenever I am upset,
You motivate me to be strong.
You prayed for my happiness;
I know that my success is all because of your prayers.
when I visit home and sleep on your lap,
I know that you look at my face and feel proud of your girl who grew up so fast!
You would take leave from your work just to pick me up when I visited home,
You would wait for hours at the railway station waiting for my train to arrive.
You always tried to save me from getting into trouble with mom;
You always made sure I was safe whenever I went out with my friends.
You taught me Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English, History, Computer science, Geography, and what not! There is just no end to your knowledge!
You would give me tips to crack my job interviews;
You taught me the value of money.
You never made me ask for anything, you have given me everything I needed, and even more than that.
I might have been rebellious when I was a teen, but your love for me has never changed;
I might have put my friends before you many times, but your love for me has never changed;
And you have never expected anything in return!
You have set the definition of unconditional love
You are the Angels in disguise.
