POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. A 5-month-old baby may seem to need warmth all the time because their body temperature regulation system is still developing. Babies this age can’t adjust to cold as easily as adults, and they lose heat faster due to their small size and low body fat.
However, needing to stay warm constantly could also suggest:
Low weight or low fat reserves, making them more sensitive to cold. Mild illness or weakness, where the body needs extra warmth. Overdependence on swaddling or warm clothing out of habit.
Make sure your baby’s hands and feet are comfortably warm, but not sweaty. The room should be at a comfortable temperature (around 22–24°C or 71–75°F). If you're unsure or notice cold skin, shivering, or fussiness even in a warm room, it's best to check with your pediatrician.
