By this time, most children can form 4- to 6-word sentences and express their thoughts clearly. However, development varies — some children may speak in full sentences earlier, around 2.5 to 3 years, while others take a little longer.
Before that, by age 1 to 2 years, they usually say single words, and by 2 to 3 years, they begin combining 2–3 words. Encourage talking by speaking clearly, reading stories, asking questions, and listening patiently. If your child isn't forming simple sentences by 3 years, it’s good to consult a pediatrician or speech therapist.
