Q.

when do babies start pointing to objects? my baby does not point and things. she says words like baba papa kaka bapa...she recognise family members, few daily objects. when asked she'd look to certain direction. but still doesn't point. when we show her by pointing, than she points. but not on her own. Is this how they learn?

A. Hi parent.. this is how it starts By 9months to 1yeat they just say mama, papa. By 15 months will understand whatever we say and will observe more. By 18 months they speak few meaningful words amma appa papa mamma thattha.. After two years they make combinations of words like amma give, amma take, appa go, mama come.. Later they make sentences. It will take time for them to speak complete full sentences. Just keep talking more to your kid.
