what are the main cause for down syndrome, I am 38 years old and i am almost 12 weeks pregnant and have to get my ultrasound done in weeks time, but my Dr had told me because of my age, they are chances of getting such syndrome in the baby, that worries me alot can you please guide

ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist2 years agoA. Once you cross a 30 year, so the probability of getting down syndrome increases and that’s why every pregnancy is being screened to check. You can also get a NIPT test along with the scan
