A. Vaccinations are crucial for your baby’s health and protection from serious diseases. The essential vaccines recommended in the first year include BCG, Hepatitis B, OPV/IPV (polio), DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), Hib, Rotavirus, Pneumococcal, and MMR (measles, mumps, rubella). These are usually given as per the immunization schedule starting at birth, then at 6, 10, 14 weeks, 6 months, 9 months, and beyond. Some optional vaccines like flu and typhoid may also be recommended. Always consult your pediatrician for the correct schedule and to ensure your baby doesn’t miss any dose.
