Q.
Sometimes My baby's feet and palm feels warm from last 3-4 days but when I am taking the temp using a thermometer it is coming not more than 98 degree f. 5 days back he took the flu shot. Is it because of that? as the temp is not 99 or 100 I am unable to give paracetamol. Why it is happening?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 7 m old boy1 Year agoA. when you take the temperature in the armpit of the child with the help of a digital thermometer and if it is 99 f (37 c) or more then you consider it as fever or when you take the temperature in the oral cavity of the child and if it is 100 degree fahrenheit then you consider it as fever and then paracetamol is given. along with paracetamol continue body sponge and keep the child in light clothes. paracetamol can be repeated maximum four times per day it is very normal for small children to have slightly warm/hot head palms and soles but if the growth of the child is proper no need to worry about the warm head palm and soles. you have to consider it as feverx only if the temperature in the armpit is 100°f / 37.7°c or more. the warm head palms and soles are due to hyperdynamic circulation in these areas (that is necessary for development) which is normal.

NikithaMom of a 10 yr 11 m old boy1 Year agoA. hello it can be due to the body heat if the temperature is a normal than nothing to worry and any concern you may check with your doctor and she will be able to guide you accordingly and absolutely nothing to worry about and not a problem
