Ricky is 50 days old suffering from cold. what are the precautions to be taken? can i give him headbath

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. yes u can give bath Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of v viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

If You want to give a head bath to the child you can immediately dry the hair completely because if the scalp is going to stay with your cold is going to increase so if you can avoid giving ahead but then please avoid if it is necessary then you give it then you just to dry the hair quickly even if you have to use a blow dryer
