one should ensure that the child should get a proper balanced diet which contains all types of nutrients essential for growth you should give all types of green vegetables fresh fruits and all types of dairy products....
any kind of infection specially any chronic infection should be ruled out and treated which may hamper the growth otherwise.
after 2 years of age you can give some powder like kids Pro/ prohance junior mix in milk twice a day for one or two months.

Include seasonal fruits and vegetables, green leafy vegetables, nuts, dry fruits and dairy in your diet. Keep your doctor posted about any changes or developments. Good luck and take care.
