Q.

Please help how to start solid and when to start? My baby girl will be 6 months old in the next month. Any chart for baby to introduce solid food, which food can be given at 6 months of age, which I must avoid. How much quantity and how many times a day I require to offer solid to my baby ... please help so many questions arise in my mind....I am really worried.

A. Soft, mashed and hygienically prepared foods like you can begin with porridges (like rice, Ragi, wheat flour , moong dal and rice flour mix) , kheer then dal-rice with vegetables, veg khichadi, soft mashed fruits, curds, later mashed paneer cheese, Vegetable Daliya consistency of food should be like that of ghee avoid water thin foods like thin dals and rice water, soups. Squeeze lemon in baby's food for iron absorption. start with 3-4 tsp and then about half katori per meal about 2 to 3 meals per day. give 1 food for about 3-6 days for baby to accept and to see how baby tolerates it then introduce another new food
