Q.

My son was suffering from Flu last week. Though he is recovering now, but he has completely lost his appetite and refuses food. He is even refusing the kind of food he usually loves to eat. He has also lost weight. How can I help my child regain his appetite and weight?

A. Dear Mum, give small frequent meals three times a day and 2 healthy snacks in between. include seasonal vegetables, green leafy vegetables and fruits important for appetite. curd helps. spices like jeera, Hing, mint powder aid digestion. for healthy weight gain, the meals should be wholesome having variety of food groups like grains, pulses/non veg dairy products like curd, paneer. nuts control intake of high sugar, oil and salt containing food and beverages.
