Q.
My son is now 8 months but he cannot sit properly without support.Is this a serious problem?Please help me.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. sitting without support and crawling in children may sometimes come after one year of age also.
if the growth of the child is proper no need to worry. just take care of regular diet and baby massage which will help in strengthening the muscles cneeded for sitting and crawling.
in some cases crawling may be absent in children and directly the child will begin to stand with support and later waclk with support and then without support.
take a medical check up done to confirm if there is need of any intervention.

If your child does not learn to sit independently by the age of 8 to 8 1/2 month then it is considered a little delay but a lot of doctors say that a child can sit after the age of one year also but still if your child does not learn to sit by the time of 8 1/2 months I would suggest you to go for further assessment with a doctor
