POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 11 m old boy10 months agoA. It is common for a 4-month-old baby to spit up after feeds, as their digestive system is still developing and the muscle at the top of the stomach (lower esophageal sphincter) may not be fully mature yet. To help reduce spit-up, try feeding your baby in an upright position, burp him frequently during and after feeding, and avoid overfeeding. Also, keep him upright for at least 20–30 minutes after feeding. If he is gaining weight well, active, and not showing signs of discomfort, spit-up is usually harmless and will improve with time. If the spit-up is forceful (projectile), green/yellow, or causing poor weight gain, consult your pediatrician.
