A. Since your baby Preetam was born at 8 months (premature) and is now 6 months old, starting solids depends on his corrected age (which would be around 5 months) and developmental readiness. If he can hold his head up, sit with support, shows interest in food, and has lost the tongue-thrust reflex, you can begin with small amounts of soft, easy-to-digest foods like rice cereal, mashed fruits, or moong dal water. Start with one food at a time and observe for any reactions. It’s always best to check with your pediatrician before starting solids for a preterm baby to ensure he’s ready and growing well.
