A. At 5 months old, it is best to continue exclusive breastfeeding or formula feeding, as solid foods are usually introduced at 6 months. However, if advised by a doctor, you can start with light, easily digestible foods like rice cereal, mashed banana, or well-pureed fruits and vegetables such as apple, carrot, or pumpkin. Begin with small spoonfuls and observe for any allergies or digestion issues. Avoid salt, sugar, honey, and cow’s milk. Always consult your pediatrician before introducing solids to ensure your baby is ready.
