Q.
My son is 5 & 1/2 years old. He has high grade fever along with cough since last 5 days. We went to a paediatrician and started Azithromycin. Fever is still there and high grade. but now I noticed red coloured patch in the sheen of his tibial bone. And he has lost around 3 kg weight in these days. Could it be a case of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of covugh.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever v and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
