Q.

my son is 4 moths and 10 days old baby. I use diaper only at night and remove it early morning..sometimes I observe minute pink spot on diaper which faints or goes off after rubbing with hand. rest of d day I use cotton nappies and no such stain is observed. rarely 1 or 2 times very light spot appeared on cotton nappy. when he s made to urinate on floor..no colouration is observed. normal urine color is dere..he has no fever..no pain.feeding properly...active throughout day..kindly suggest accordingly..thanks.

A. Very concentrated urine during the first few days of life can contain urate crystals (uric acid crystals). These urate crystals can cause a pink, red, or orange-colored, powdery stain in your baby's diaper called brick dust. 7 It might be scary, but brick dust is normal for many newborns.
