Q.

My son is 3 year sold. Relent plus is prescribed for him for cough and cold. but since he had fever tonight, I gave calpol 250mg also with the prescribed amount of relent plus. Can these two medication can be given together?

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant brognchodilators orj antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. hi parent usually both can be taken but please keep some time difference between two one is anti allergic and calpol is to control fever please consult you pediatrician as well
