A. If your 3.4-year-old son has a slight squint, especially noticeable when looking at distant objects, it may be a condition called strabismus. When you talk to him closely and both eyes align, it suggests the squint may be mild or intermittent. However, it’s important to get his eyes checked by a pediatric ophthalmologist. Early diagnosis can help correct the issue with glasses, patching, or eye exercises. In some cases, early treatment prevents vision problems like lazy eye (amblyopia). Don’t delay, as treatment is most effective at a young age.
