A. it is a condition in which there is restriction in the movements of the tongue due to presence of band tissue beneath the tongue which is attached to the floor of the mouth.x it may cause restriction in feeding drinking and later speech and articulation of words. if the child is not having any complaints then no treatment is required but this has to be discussed with your doctor who will tell you whether any surgical intervention for the removal of band is required or not(tongue tie division) the cure procedure can be carried out at any age. if tongue-tie is left alone, babies can often grow out of it as their mouth develops. however, some cases of tongue-tie may require surgery for correction.
