Q.
my second baby is 16days old, and she is suffering with cold, I am using medicine for her. may I know how many days it will take to recover?

ExpertDr Mahesh PatilPaediatrician3 years agoA. Hello, your baby boy is newborn baby just 16 days old and he is having a cold so Don’t give him any medicine unless he is clinically examined by your paediatrician

Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As at part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a prfoper hydration needs to be maintained .
